Saturday’s socialist speak out

Twenty six percent. That is Labor’s vote according to the latest polls. It has been below 30 percent for 3 months. Is this cyclical or does it represent something deeper? Is Labor dead or just resting? Would reinstating Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister do the trick?

Personally I think if Kevin Rudd is the Messiah then Labor is lost in the desert forever and no new Moses is ever going to save them (to mix religious metaphors).

In the United States the black President presides over a racist ‘justice’ system which executed another black man.

And it looks like the US is in the process of abandoning Pakistan. The end result may be the Afghanistanisation of Pakistan.

The Obama version of Empire has announced it will reject Palestine’s bid for statehood at the United Nations.

And  all the while the global financial crisis mark II deepens and the bourgeoisie and its political class have no answers, other than glib sound bites.

The libs are already in power in 3 states… will their bastardry at the state level cost Abbott his popularity?

And after the carbon price is enacted and the sky doesn’t fall on our heads, will Abbott’s mileage from that issue be spent?

And will the ALP ever stop kicking asylum seekers through their own goalposts?

Well said! This mob are shot but the Abbott crowd are worse. God help us …

A small quibble (and yes mate, I know I annoy you) but Obama can’t interfere in State executions. I don’t reckon a black president agrees with the frame up and killing of this man, but he has no power over State judicial systems and the death penalty. That’s what’s wrong with America. P{lus, Georgia is about a 100 years behind Obama’s state of Illinois, which outlawed death sentance decades ago.

Terrance, that is too legalistic. He can’t interfere legally, but he could have politically.

True, but then it raises a principle that president Buchmann or President Palin would cite to execute more innocent people! This killing is so wrong on so many levels but I have an inkling Obama would not disagree with what you said about this. I know you hate the guy, but he really can’t solve all of America’s problems – although they should have let the South split in 1861 and be done with it.
