ACT Greens capitulate to Labor on marriage equality

The ACT Greens have capitulated to ACT Labor and instead of introducing a marriage equality bill will support Labor’s civil unions Bill. This Bill accepts the discriminatory idea that marriage is between a man and a woman. There is no constitutional, legal or political impediment to the Greens introducing an equal marriage Bill now. The fight for equal love must now include forcing the ACT Greens to introduce such a Bill before the Liberals possibly win the ACT election in October or the Greens lose the balance of power. Labor is making these civil unions’ changes to take the heat off Julia Gillard and to pretend they are doing something positive for the LGBTI community when in fact this is a bronze medal. Let’s go for gold for equal love, not limit ourselves to second or third best. The struggle continues. Here are some details of rallies today for marriage equality. http://enpassant.com.au/2012/08/10/details-of-upcoming-rallies-for-marriage-equality-around-australia/

If gay marriage is the big issue then we have all totally lost the plot.Govt should have no control over personal realtionships. Most hetrosexual people have bonds outside of Church and State.
The Gay lobby are falling for the trap of Govt control of their sexuality by trying to seeking approval of the very people who want to control them.
