Union organising is not a crime: Support Johnny Lomax
Posted by John, August 3rd, 2015 - under Building unions, Building workers, CFMEU, Resistance, Union rights, Unions.
CFMEU building union Canberra organiser Johnny Lomax has been arrested. His crime? Negotiating and securing improvements in working conditions and wages for union members.
This is a direct attack from the Abbott Government on our ability to protect our wages and our safety at work. We will be gathering outside the ACT Magistrates Court to cheer Johnny on in solidarity as he enters to face these malicious and outrageous charges. See you there.
If you haven’t got the full story on this (it will be hard to believe til you read it all), and you want to know more, have a read of these:

If you can’t be there on the day, we request that you invite anyone in Canberra along to the event here on Facebook so that as many people as possible can learn about the charges against Johnny and come along to show their support.
Wednesday at 08:40 ACT Magistrate Courts 4 Knowles Place, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory 2601.
Here is the CFMEU facebook invitation. If you are in Canberra or nearby come along to support a union which actually fights for its members and help stop this blatant attack on unions and their ability to organise.
