Rudd’s refugee racism

Warning: Angry left wing rant follows.
There are 25 million refugees in the world; so what that a few of them want to come to Australia?
Refugees are fleeing wars that western Imperialism created or supported. The latest boats contain people from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Iraq – hell holes of our intrigue and invasion.
Refugees facing the genocidal Western backed Government in Sri Lanka have every right to seek a future in Australia free from concentration camps.
Refugees from Western occupied Iraq and Afghanistan have every right to seek a future free in Australia from the murderous troops of imperialism and the plumes of death they have unleashed.
And what does Kevin Rudd do? He rings the Indonesian President to get him to do the dirty work for us, to prevent people fleeing oppression and persecution from gaining safe haven in Australia.
The former Liberal Government had the Pacific solution; the Rudd Labor Government evidently has the Indonesian solution. Both share the same rotten goal – to stop refugees arriving in Australia.
Rather than rejecting refugees we should be welcoming them; we should set up rapid processing centres in places near their former countries to fly them direct from there to Australia.
Kevin Rudd is attempting to out-Ruddock Phillip Ruddock, all to dog whistle the racist strain within Australian society.
Enough of this disgusting treatment of fellow human beings in need. Let Rudd remember his Bible and the story of the good Samaritan. Hypocrite.
Tear down our walls of ignorance and hate, and replace them with acceptance. And love. Yes love for all human beings in need, a need we can easily satisfy.
Our exclusion of refugees, our inhumanity, is part not only of the political game played for political advantage but also a deeper expression of institutionalised racism in Australian capitalism; an institutionalised racism that is some sort of false defence mechanism against the profound alienation we experience as workers.
Labor’s capitulation to the reactionaries on refugees makes them unworthy of any support. Any decent member of the ALP should join with the Left in the campaign for refugees, a campaign for decency and humanity.
That campaign too must include opposition to our wars around the world, a campaign to bring the troops home.
Rot in hell Rudd.

Look, I agree with you. But there are somthing we have to be care about..
we need to know who we are letting in.. what if we welcome terrorism in Australia?
what if we welcome all the bad things that happens in other countries… if the people from countries like that flee and come here, we are at risk of ending up like them!
let me explain more – There will be people coming here.. and they will bring bad influence with them. We have to try out best to protect this beautiful country.
i love and respect Australia, I love and respect Aboriginal people. I want to protect it from all the bad. I cant accept anyone just coming here.
