Send Barnaby to Indonesia
It is a pity that Barnaby Joyce, a man of tact, diplomacy, nuance and subtlety, isn’t going to Indonesia to fix things up. I know I am disappointed that Barnaby is missing out on this great opportunity, and I am sure the Indonesians feel the same way. [Sarcasm alert.] (0)

Victorian State Labor Conference endorses same-sex marriage

Victorian State Labor Conference endorses same-sex marriage!

Another sign of the momentum growing for the November 28 rallies for equality!

Cross Campus Equal Love student groups and Community Action Against Homophobia (CAAH) welcomes the decision of the Victorian State Labor Party conference to endorse the demand for Same-Sex marriage rights.

The motion, which was described as ‘overwhelmingly’ passed is another sign of the growing discontent with the ban on equal rights for the LGBTI community.

Victorian Labor joins the Tasmanian Labor Party which passed a similar motion in support of marriage equality earlier this year.

The declaration from Victorian Labor crucially comes just days before the Senate Inquiry into Same-Sex Marriage will be released, on Thursday 26th of November.

Leading advocate for equal rights within the Victorian ALP, State Education Minister Bronwyn Pike will be joining the rally in Melbourne on November 28 to speak about her support for the campaign, and for full marriage rights.

It is more important than ever now for pro-equality supporters to hit the streets on November 28!

As the pressure builds on Rudd within his own party, we need to reinforce that message and highlight the huge amount of support that exists for marriage equality in broader society as well.

Now is the time to put the words into action, and turn the mass sentiment into mass defiance!

Join us and help to launch the Year of Action for Same-Sex Marriage next year:
