If you want universal health and free education increasing the GST would go a long way to achieving it.

Look at Finland.

My point is that making the working class pay for these services is not necessarily the way forward. Taxing the rich is an option, especially since they profit from a healthy and educated work force. Gina Rinehart’s wealth has increased under Labor from $5 billion to $29 billion. Why not tax some of that?
