Send Barnaby to Indonesia
It is a pity that Barnaby Joyce, a man of tact, diplomacy, nuance and subtlety, isn’t going to Indonesia to fix things up. I know I am disappointed that Barnaby is missing out on this great opportunity, and I am sure the Indonesians feel the same way. [Sarcasm alert.] (0)

Canada – why the shock?

Glenn Greenwald:

Canada learns you don’t get to run around for years wallowing in war glory, invading and bombing others, without the risk of having violence brought back to you.

Well, if everyone in the West were to totally ignore the sectarian violence and genocides in the Middle East, put up a ‘Berlin Wall’ type of construction right around the Middle East to prevent refugees from escaping through the borders, and just sit back and allow the most violent groups to prevail over all others, then citizens of the West could save a lot of taxpayer money, concentrate on enjoying their very pleasant lives, and avoid any acts of violence against its citizens. Is that the Left’s solution? If so, it sounds a great solution for us westerners! Too bad about the non-ISIS Muslims and other religious groups in the Middle East, though.

As I said, sounds like a terrific solution for the West. Too bad millions of innocent Muslims (and others) will be slaughtered in the meantime. But hey, as long as the accursed West stays out of the Middle East, all will be serene, and the Left will be happy! What a wonderful solution!

I wonder why Obama, Cameron, Harper, Abbott et alia didn’t think of that? Maybe because the idea of ISIS slaughtering all who do not convert to their murderous ideology is somehow just a little bit repugnant?

There is no argument that many of the US’s foreign policies and actions in the past were utterly reprehensible, much of it occurring during the Cold War, when the USSR and the US were busily claiming as many countries as they could to be part of their communist or capitalist regimes. And before the ISIS crisis in Iraq, the US and its allies were all withdrawing as fast as possible from Iraq, and the Middle East in general.

What does the Left believe should be the world’s approach to ISIS? Just let them get on with it?

It is a shock when its carried out by a Canadian. If the enemy had come from overseas then that would be a legimate act of war.

When it comes from your own citizens it just shows how destructive multiculturalism is.
