My top ten for 2014

Leaving aside my resignation from Socialist Alternative and similar articles from the top ten most read articles, this was the tenth most read article on my blog this year.  Why the attacks on the disabled, pensioners, the low paid, the unemployed, students, the sick, Aborigines…?

Here is a snippet:

Marx identified the tendency of the rate of profit to fall as the dagger at the heart of capitalism. The more successful individual capital is, the more of a problem it produces for capitalism. Labor is the sole source of value. The drive for more profit over competitors sees as a generalisation more and more profit reinvested in capital compared to labour at a greater rate than increases in value extracted from workers. Profit rates fall.

There are counteracting factors to this tendency. Many of them are at work today. Lengthening the working day is one, and that is certainly happening in Australia and elsewhere. Cutting the share of national income going to labour and increasing the share going to capital is another, and that too has been happening over a long period of time in Australia. Cutting real wages is another and that has happened at times over the last 3 decades in Australia, most spectacularly under the Hawke and Keating Labor Governments and the Accord.

Well, the answer to the headline question is simple:

The UN has told the western world to crush the welfare system, and Tony Abbott has been happy to oblige.

The reason the government wants to wipe out the ABC is so that they can inflict Information Control on people like myself who compare the various soothsayings of the UN with government decisions.

One day they say we are lucky to have a AAA credit rating and the next they are pushing for backsliding welfare reforms.

This would certainly seem to support a link between the UN, global flattening agenda, and global capitalists, who are also able to make good use of our superannuation holdings for their own benefit.

I would be interested in knowing all 10 of the top articles, particularly No. 1.

I sincerely doubt the world is afraid of reading or hearing your completely unsubstantiated anti-UN comments. The Abbott government has far bigger real concerns than that.
