This is a statement by the Left Front on the terrorist attack in Paris. It supports the Communist Party aligned Confederation of General Workers (CGT) for a mobilisation of all democrats from 5 pm (about 4 am Australian time Thursday morning) in the Place de la Republique in memory of the dead and their families and friends. 35,000 attended.
A snippet: Faced with terror, we must respond with more democracy, more fraternity and tolerance.

NO ONE CAN have anything but the profoundest condemnation for the attacks on the Paris offices of the satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo. [However] the latest attack will lead to a greater backlash and greater levels of Islamophobia. But it is not Muslims who are the problem but the foreign policies that have helped create terrorism. That is what needs to change.
