Send Barnaby to Indonesia
It is a pity that Barnaby Joyce, a man of tact, diplomacy, nuance and subtlety, isn’t going to Indonesia to fix things up. I know I am disappointed that Barnaby is missing out on this great opportunity, and I am sure the Indonesians feel the same way. [Sarcasm alert.] (0)

With all this loss of confidence, why doesn’t the Abbott government just dissolve the people and elect another?

Every time I hear the government saying they have lost confidence in the Human Rights Commissioner, Gillian Triggs, it reminds me of this from Bertolt Brecht.

The Solution

After the uprising of the 17th of June
The Secretary of the Writers’ Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?

I sometimes post on Abbott’s facebook and usually the comments stand. Now they are being edited out. Only positive comments will be allowed on Abbott’s page.

Dissolving the people would not work at all. The Abbott government needs the poor and average to prop up the rich. If the government elected only Coalition supporters, they would need to exploit one another.

Blog comments which prove that both Labor and Coalition are working to an anti-Australian agenda are more often rejected by moderators than trivial rubbish or insults posted by morons. The latter are actually conducive to people such as Tony Abbott going up in the polls.
