The fascist face of Reclaim Australia

This fascist is the real face of Reclaim Australia, photographed today at the ‘United Patriot Front’ storm trooper protest in Melbourne where 400 anti-fascists confronted the 70 Nazis.

These protests, infected by fascists, are a consequence of Tony Abbott’s state inflamed racism,  Islamophobia and anti-asylum seeker rhetoric and action.

A UPA member shouts at a Muslim woman in Richmond.

The fascists slunk off under the protection of Victoria police.

…protection of Victoria Police.

Protection from what?

Exactly what happened in Germany. Bring on banker austerity and play one group off against another thus blaming a targeted minority for our demise. For Hitler is was the Jews. Now it is the Muslims or even the Chinese.

Govts always need something for us to fear so they can control us. Enter Howard’s Sedition laws and now laws that can jail us for revealing illegal activities of our intelligence services.

I don’t think we have the awareness, courage or conviction to make this a truly free and fair country.” Let us go you and I like a patient etherised upon a table. This is the way the world ends, not a bang but a whimper”

From the angry anti-fascists who were telling them to leave. No room for fascism, no space for the filth. You know of course the fascists’ aim was to smash Stephen Jolly, a socialist and elected councillor. The anti-fascists were there to protect him from this filth.

What were the angry anti-fascists going to do to them?

The sad part John, is that the “filth” are the manipulated poor of a system that enslaves them. They never had an education that enabled them to discover any truth.

The elites have always played one supressed group off against another while they take almost everything. The idiot Nazi in your photo has a tattoo of the Union Jack on his arm. The Union jack is the symbol of British Imperialism which currently enslaves him.

My grandmother had ancestry that went back to convicts of 1798 in Aust ,yet she loved the Royals as they sent her letters of praise for her longevity and pictures of the Royals visiting here back in the 1930’s.She like our Nazis sympathisers had no realisation of who enslaved them.

What they did. Stop them from silencing Stephen Jolly, and drive them off our streets. Or do you agree with the fascists’ ‘right’ to shut down elected socialists?

I think the Socialists and National Socialists are as bad as each other.

You seem to be condoning violence against those that you disagree with, while you whine when you have ‘death threats’ made against you.

You truly are a keyboard warrior.

Make up your mind. I am either a keyboard warrior or a real street one. I am not arguing that we acquaint the fascists heads with the footpath. I actually think the best response to the rise of the fascists is for the working class to mobilise industrially, and when the fascists attack us (as they were clearly trying to do in attempting to silence Stephen Jolly and planning to take the town hall steps) for us to stop them from doing so. I am pointing out that the police protect the fascists. They often have an affinity with each other as the situation in Greece with half the police force voting in the last election for the Neo-Nazi Golden Dawn shows. If I am a keyboard warrior you are a troll.

Socialist protest marches often become violent. I don’t think Julie Bishop was attacking the students at Sydney Uni when they started pushing and shoving her. No, you prefer to blame those public officials, including police, who seek to defend others from the actions of socialist demonstrators.

When you have two passionate groups who oppose each others’ views, there is bound to be some physical interaction – unless the police intervene. Not the fault of the police. But BOTH groups of demonstrators usually give as good as they get. It is just that you agree with one group (the ‘goodies’), but not the other (the ‘baddies’).

There is widespread concern in the Australian community about Muslim extremism. It is not just the Reclaim Australia protestors, although they probably represent the more extreme end of the anti-Muslim spectrum . Are all the ordinary citizens who fear Islam fascists? I don’t think so! But you are just in love with the words “fascists”and “filth”. You apply it to anyone who is not a socialist infected with Islamophilia.

Douglas Murray, a British conservative writer, has written a book about Islamophilia. No doubt you regard his writings as ‘fascist filth’ (your favourite words), but it sounds like interesting reading:

How odd that in an article specifically about the fascists, you accuse me of calling everyone a fascist who disagrees with me. As I have made clear many times, people on the left misuse the word fascist to apply it to people who aren’t fascists. It only demeans the word when we then try to apply it to real fascists.

However the United Patriots Front are actually fascists and it is correct to describe them as such. The photo shows this clearly. They are using this Islamophobia to try to build, and they are finding a bit of an audience among those who do fall for the racist nonsense pushed subtly by our rulers in various guises with for example their rhetoric against asylum seekers, terrorists, Aborigines etc etc. This ‘othering’ creates the perfect environment for increasing the fear of Muslims.

This is not new. It has for 227 years been the fate of Aborigines in the white colonial settler state that is Australia to be the other and at various times that role has also fallen on the Chinese, Asians more generally, the reds (especially Asian communists), and now of course Muslims. It is an irrational fear and only survives because it is pushed or suggested (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) by the state or in Abbott’s case more openly with his overblown rhetoric about terrorists and boat people.

The other element in this is the lack of a anti-racist and anti-fascist mainstream left willing to fight against the dark thread of state sponsored racism, a state sponsorship the fascists are now trying to take advantage of.

“It is an irrational fear and only survives because it is pushed or suggested (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) by the state or in Abbott’s case more openly with his overblown rhetoric about terrorists and boat people.”

Really? You think people fear is completely irrational and only survives because of the state?

Australian’s have been the victim’s of Islamic terrorism in London, New York and Bali.

I think people can see for themselves.

Comment from John
Time June 3, 2015 at 2:58 pm

And can they also see the systemic terrorism against women and the fact 38 have died at the hands of their partners or ex-partners this year? Or what about the fact that one worker dies for profit per two weeks on buildings sites? Don’t notice too much self reflection there, perhaps because the state isn’t driving any real action against these activities because they are part and parcel of the capitalist system.

In fact the examples you highlight show the irrationality. Abbott et al are not running with them but in part with the Lindt siege which of course wasn’t terrorism. Even if they were, it is some time ago.

Do rational people fear Islam and Muslims because some religious nutters bombed a Bali nightclub? Seriously? You feel threatened by Bali and London and New York? How do you sleep at night? What about the 1.3 million dead in Iraq as a consequence of the invasion there? Do you feel frightened by that statistic? Or happy?

And most of the supposed jihadis arrested here aren’t or won’t be. Most of those cases will disappear after the beat up of the arrests. Throw in a bit about ISIS and passports and you have a state driven environment of fear.

Add in asylum seekers and Aborigines and you have a perfect cocktail for ‘othering’, for uniting around Team Tony to fight the ‘enemy’ within and externally.

Why the state driven othering and fearmongering? Because it divides workers, and it distracts attention away form the problems of government and of its cuts to services.

“…people on the left misuse the word fascist to apply it to people who aren’t fascists. It only demeans the word when we then try to apply it to real fascists.” I think you’ve called me a “fascist” from many times, when in fact I am a little ‘l’ liberal – but not a socialist! I may be wary of Islam, but that does not make me a fascist!

I don’t dispute that the Reclaim Australia has some fascist-type elements. But it also appeals to many ordinary people who just have a fear of Islam. All the terrorist attacks that have happened in the Western world in the past couple of decades have been perpetrated by Islamic extremists. And even now we see how many young Muslims are heading overseas to fight for bloodthirsty ISIS, and local terrorist plots are being uncovered – not to mention the Lindt siege which was a somewhat deluded terrorist attack on behalf of ISIS.

You know, this endless blind-folded Left wing defense of all things Islamic is actually making things much worse for ordinary moderate Muslims. It is the religion everyone fears. That is not racist. Muslims are not all black or brown people. A large proportion are white. You can only tell by their dress.

Your usual ridiculous commentary in an attempt to excuse your racism. I am tired of your endless racist drivel. Find somewhere else to express your anger, alienation and fear. There must be some fascist organised sites you can find comfort and solace. I know. Reclaim white Australia is perfect for you. So why don’t you go there and spew forth your racist bile to a group who will appreciate it? You will not be doing it here anymore. There is now a permanent ban on you and your racist trolling.
