Send Barnaby to Indonesia
It is a pity that Barnaby Joyce, a man of tact, diplomacy, nuance and subtlety, isn’t going to Indonesia to fix things up. I know I am disappointed that Barnaby is missing out on this great opportunity, and I am sure the Indonesians feel the same way. [Sarcasm alert.] (0)

2017: A year of Trump, Turnbull and rampant neoliberalism

In Independent Australia I look back at the neoliberal year of 2017 and find a steady, global undercurrent of resistance for trickle-down campaigns of the kind favoured by the Coalition Government in Australia.

The system will have to collapse before any fairness prevails. The collapse of our inflated housing market will devastate our economy as many have used housing equity to buy consumer goods on more credit. China has gone to places like Africa to get cheaper energy and resources. We no longer have the Commonwealth Govt Bank and State Govt banks to create debt free money for infrastructure and services. The debt just keeps growing and thus more taxes to service it. More poverty for the masses is the result. 33 % of our pensioners are below the poverty line which puts us below the the USA and South Korea for caring for the elderly. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-11-15/why-australias-economy-house-cards
