Send Barnaby to Indonesia
It is a pity that Barnaby Joyce, a man of tact, diplomacy, nuance and subtlety, isn’t going to Indonesia to fix things up. I know I am disappointed that Barnaby is missing out on this great opportunity, and I am sure the Indonesians feel the same way. [Sarcasm alert.] (0)

Thai rescue highlights our humanity – but not of ‘our’ leaders

Cartoon by Mark David / @mdavidcartoons

In Australia, we erupted with joy as we watched the Thai rescue, but our leaders have not planned a rescue operation for 134 children still imprisoned in Nauru, I write in Independent Australia

Our illustrious leaders always like a distraction so their lies go unnoticed and the Thai Cave rescue was just another one. John you ask for refugees to be taken readily here when in Europe they have both a social and economic crisis because of policies like you are advocating. There is no mention of the part played by the debt money creation system by you on these poor countries. It would be better to cancel their debt , so they can remain in their own countries ,rather than become a burden to us who are also enslaved by this immoral debt money system.

Maybe if we stopped invading them, bombing them or supporting their dictators they might not have to flee.

Very true about western imperial aggression but Australia is in deep shit. Our property market is 5 times the value of our share market and 2.6 times the median price os USA and they think their property in a bubble. Our net debt is over a $1 trillion with the second highest personal debt on the planet . The Banker Property Bubble is collapsing now. There are over a million people now who are on the verge of mortgage default. This will devastate our economy. How many will have a job ? Bankers will own just about everything. Maths does not lie like our corrupt politicians.
